My JD 400 that I got from my father had the 3 pt tiller, which I sold 20+ years ago because I’m not a gardener. 😔 Anyway, I’ve got some areas in my lawn that I would like to work up and smooth out. I‘ve been looking around for a model 30 for my 110 and came across a deal that intrigues me. It’s a 1967 112 H with a newer HH100. The seller has used it for the past 4 yrs to blow his driveway. It quit on him this past winter, he replaced points, condenser, plug & wire. It would start for a moment and quit. He’s tired of messing with it.
112 H original rear Firestones with newer chains & 50# cast iron weights, newer front tires with nubbies, working blower, mower deck with good spindles and gauge wheels intact and for the part that interests me, a model 30 tiller with great looking tines, really nice chain guard, the small idler pulley and adjustable top link.
So… if you could get the package for $400 + gas for a 2 1/2 hour round trip… would you?
How much does that replacement HH100 detract from the appeal? I know it detracts from value.
In my mind the weights and tiller are worth the $400.

So… what do you think?? 🤔

That's a heck of a deal even if you have to settle with him on the full $500 with all of those attachments and accessories. The tractor alone I would think would be well worth that. If you haven't gotten on the road by now we'll probably pass the hat around for gas, give you a shove out the door and get you on your way! 😎

Update: The seller finally got back to me and I made the drive to go check out the tractor and attachments. The mower was pretty ruff which the pictures didn’t show. Tractor was more of a project then I really want at this time, but, he did agree to sell the tiller to me, so I brought it home. 😁

Nice acquisition there Tom. It looks like it's in good shape overall and a brass tagger to boot.(y)
