Transaxle repair needed in SE Michigan

Discussion in 'Transmissions' started by Cheeseburger, Apr 30, 2017.

  1. Hi all,

I dusted off my 1964 110 after winter storage and noticed oil on the inside of one of the rear rims. My thought is that the oil seal for the axle housing has failed.

I am looking for somebody in SE Michigan that respects these old machines to do the repair and/or diagnose if this is not an oil seal issue.

Thanks in advance for any info and help,

Sounds like an oil seal to me. Nice looking piece.
Not from around that part of the world. Good luck, no thoughts on doing it yourself? It's really not a hard repair.

  3. Thanks Kster526, I considered doing it but I would be going in blind (as in I have never done that before) and I don't have the time between caring for two older relatives, working full time, and going to my kids events...
