Does anyone mount their own tires? Trying to mount a pair of 11x4.00-5 tires for the S92, but man are they kicking my butt! I've got a mini tire changer, but I can't get the dang bottom bead on. Anyone got any helpful tips?
I usually do my own except for the 400-8 they are tough . I take those to Pikeville Equip and they do for me. I also really struggle with those smaller ones. Plus if the rims are painted they are usually very good in not beating them up for me.
If you can get one side started try a set of vice grips on the edge of the rim and work your way around from there with the large screw drivers. A little dish soap or WD40 helps occasionally also. I've also found if there really cold they are not as co-operative
Been using dish soap. Thought of putting them in front of the heater for a few minutes. I'll give that a try, if not I may have to take them somewhere.
I use vaseline on both the beads and the rim edges. Sometimes, depending on the flexibility or softness of the tire, you can twist the rim into the tire without tools or screwdrivers.
