With a day off thought I’d do a little upkeep on the 318.
After sanding down the hood panels needed a little filler and after opening it was barely usable. Got done what needed done and they are green again but definitely not my best work. Probably should have just waited for Spring. She is not going to be a show piece but needs to be presentable. A little dirt also appeared not sure how and where that came from but O well maybe it’ll polish out.
Think maybe I am out of practice

With the addition of a new tilt seat bracket took some time today
and got it mounted on the 318
Painted it up last weekend and then today replaced a few of the bolts with
new ones .
Looks like the fender deck will need some attention too
when it’s painted you’ll see a few larger cracks
Many thanks again Don for picking up for me.
Was good to see you and your wife again

Easily fixable , even my GT235 was cracked like that . Only stamped steel
With this nicer weather would love to tear into it but as soon as I do
Then we will get a bad storm
Your 318 project is coming along nicely. I'm sure you can fix the cracks just fine with a little Tig or Mig welding. Drilling a small hole at the end of each crack radiating outward from the bolt hole first should help to stop the cracks from propagating further. You may already be familiar with this idea but I just thought I'd mention it. You're doing a real fine job with the project.

Brought the 318 into the garage for a little tinkering today also
With the chute on the snowblower extended it did not go up far enough so I trimmed
about 3/8 off and slotted the adjuster a little more to allow it to go
higher. It always went down far enough. Some filing and adjusting helped
with the bolts and the way they sat.
Thinking of another mod while I have it there but that requires parts yet.
