I was mowing my yard a week or so ago when I was making a turn and re-engaged the blades the metal arm that controls tension on the cable sheared off. I got a new one from the dealer and installed no problem. Now I cannot get the thing started, or even attempting to turn over. The battery was charged thinking that was the issue, the choke lever works, there is no tension on the cable that engages the blade and there is fuel. The main fuse it is not blown, or any loose connections, torn wires where everything broke down. I took a screw driver and touched the two posts on the starter solenoid and the motor tries to fire up. I picked up a new solenoid thinking that was the culprit. However after hooking the new one up I am still having issues. I attempted to get a reading on the purple trigger wire and am not getting anything. Any advice on what to look at next?

I then took and wire and touched the + post on the solenoid and the small tab the trigger wire goes to and it tries to start up as well. So this purple trigger wire that run to the solenoid to the ignition? seems to be the problem. What do I need to look at or test next?
