Thought I’d get the oil changed on the rescue 212 today too. Unfortunately the drain cock won’t budge. Appears that I should be able to back there entire assembly out of the oil pan. Has anyone had/see any issues with this approach?

Yeah common issue, I usually pull them out and put a pipe plug in.

I was very frustrated that I couldn’t get the drain valve open. When I changed the oil in my runner last spring the valve worked perfect and made the process sooo easy.

Backing out the valve worked well, spilled a bit more than I would have if the valve had worked, but it's done.

Once I had it out of the oil pan and could get a couple of wrenches on it I was able to get it to open/close reliably so I put it back in. Hopefully it will work well for it's new owner.

Note to future self - If you do this again make sure you tighten the packing nut on the valve fully so you don't end up with a leak...
