I just tested the pto on my 210 and I'm getting 4.9 - 5 ohms. Is that too much? I think I read it's supposed to be between 2 and 4.

On a 318 the ohm range is from 3.8 to 5 as a good PTO. The higher the ohms the less will be the amperage needed to activate. I would call it good.
Guess I have a spare then. Someone had it hooked up directly to the battery with a cheap 2 wire switch and the wires were melted. I got the correct switch and a new Extreme pto, and when I'd kick in the pto the engine would shut down. After getting a wire diagram I found out ALL the safety switches were cut out but never completed the loop. Everything hooked up as it should be now, without the safety switches,

and it works great. Waiting for the grass to dry so I can start mowing!
