Finally completed an item that took a little longer
than expected..........13+years or so ago.
The 1967 RF I restored, my first and first in the collection had a big hole in the hood were the latch was so I never reinstalled it.
Even spoke to the Elfman himself on what he used
to reinstall the latch but nope never did it.
Well now it’s done. Yes finally. I had even drilled
the pilot holes for the location after fixing the giant hole.
After digging around I found the latch with a little overspray on it from its time hanging around but it was painted when I did the tractor.
Grabbed a little 1500 to nock off the overspray polished her up good as new.
Took a few minutes to polish up the new rivets
before installing and then figured I’d get the wheel out and go over the hood and do a little detailing on it since it’s been a few years since anything’s been done to it.
Think she’s ready for the Keebler Gathering now.
She’ll need a battery but that’s a minor chore
and I’ll have to get one for the trailer too while at Deka.
