Not sure where it's gonna sleep but could not pass up buying a 1977 John Deere 208. Needs some love and smokes a little but overall not all torn up. I know it's not a round fender but being different and rare thought it deserved a chance. First is to repaint the barber pole looking grill!!!!!

It appears to be an April 77 revision. Perfect for your 208.   J.

Started to tear her down now for a little love. Found an exact pad/seat cover locally . New front tires arrived bought Deestones tread is very close but price was deciding factor. Need to get the engine out and measure the bore before I order rings then assorted other items like drive belt, foot pads air cleaner. The small stuff. Will post more pics

As far as you are tearing things down Kyle, you may as well do a complete restoration. Looking good though, and can't wait to see the final results.

Getting there need to get the engine out and install new rings as she is a smoker. Washed it down again as soon as the engines on the bench I'll repaint the frame and tower  get all that back together with new belts, bolts and gear oil  so I can get her rolling around again. Thanks for compliment and I'll post a new pic as I progress but life is getting in the way of playtime right now.

Think this now far enough. Wouldn't have been for the battery acid on the inner part of tower and frame might not have had to pull the tower off but I guess I may be a little picky and figured while its this far apart I'll fix it. Had a blown head gasket and a lot of carbon on the valves due to the rings also being bad. Cylinder wall in excellent shape. Now I just have to remember how it goes back together!

Got a little work done. Used Rustoleum Satin black instead of the JD brand seems to be a similar finish just not sure if I like it. Replaced bolts on frame, got the rear rims painted, saved the rear original tires and put tubes in, new drive belts and fuel line. Finally broke down and ordered that repair manual off of EBay. Round fenders have less parts and I think I can almost work on in my sleep.

Got a little more done took a mental health day from work today. Inside of the front wheels were bad one actually had water inside so spent time painting them. Will finish the outside after they are mounted up. Round fenders just don't seem to have as many parts to paint but have a lot more green on them!!!
