GT tiller

For those with tiller experience, will a GT tiller, like a model 30 break new ground? Or does it need to be plowed first?
Thanks

Yes they do, may need to make a few slow trips back and fourth.
My tines are worn or it would probably work better

Don't try going the deepest on your first pass. Work the tiller down slowly over a couple of passes or you'll end up doing damage to the tiller. Right now the ground isn't hard so two passes might get you where you want to be.

Elfman is right. Take a pass about an 1-1/2” deep as slow as you can go, then hit a second pass a little deeper, and so on. Don’t rush the seat time!

I have to say tilling is one of the most enjoyable things to do on the garden tractors.
Think because its something different.

I think it is because of the tilled soil behind you.

So back in March I purchased a 30 tiller form Fulton's, but then messed up my arm. A buddy that lives close to Fulton's picked it up for me and it's been sitting next to his shed since. I finally got it from him today! It's far from pretty, but supposedly it works.

Looks good brother
Luv both of mine for sure. I think the seat time is great.
The 1974 112 makes it easier being hydraulic lift but either way your playing in dirt.

If you change your mind and decide that you don't want it Chase, let me know as I would be interested in it.

Hey elf, I will keep that in mind as I do plan on upgrading to a larger tractor in the future.

Anyone happen to have the mule drive pulley needed for the tiller on a RF, that you'd be willing to part with?

Any chance anyone has the JD part number for the double groove mule drive pulley?
First time with the tiller. Worked rather well. First pass.
