Hello,
Just joined from southern berks pa. Has anyone ever pulley swapped a 200 series or other with a variator to get a little more speed? How did it work out?

Thanks,

I know the garden tractor pulling guys change the pulley on the crank shaft to get more and even less speed but thats on wheel horse or sears belt driven tractors. I'm not sure how that would work on a JD with a variator.

So on the same token here, does anone have any experience eliminate variator?
What belt would you need, how would the clutch work?

I could swap crankshaft or trans pulley...whichever one works out better. I need to pull a 6 x9 trailer with kids for Halloween. Houses are far apart so I'd love to get 12-15 mph and have no problem starting in 4th with loaded trailer. I can't think of a reason why it won't work. Seems like the perfect setup (variator) for that need

Try an adjustable shiv on the motor pulley but you made need to change belts up or down one size to compensate.
Good luck sounds like you have it already figured out
