I currently have an old JD LT155 with bagger and high lift blades. (22 years old) I would like to purchase a new JD but was hoping to be able to mulch most of the year, but still have the option to bag for general cleanup as needed. Is this possible? Is there a JD model that I can purchase which allows me to turn mulching OFF and then allow the cuttings to exit the side into a bagger option? It would be best if I didn't have to change blades between mulching and bagging modes. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to JD Fanantics @Dennis_1507!

Unfortunately I can't answer your question as my 212 makes your LT155 look modern. Your best be is probably to reach out to your local dealer. Be sure to let us know what you find out and post up some photos of your current and new setup.

I believe you would need two sets of blades. Mulching blades have very little lifting ability because you're not supposed to be cutting very much of the grass blade. Whereas when bagging you want maximum lift and air flow to throw your grass into the shoot. Just my two cents.
