Well since you cannot find or afford a heavy duty
air cleaner for the JD 140 decided to make my own.
A 317 canister from my favorite man store, the carb piece from HAPCO, breather from EBay , made the wing nut and internal threaded adapter to screw the wing nut into
Only need to figure out the mounting bracket and find a radiator hose that will work. Half way there with less than $100 into it.

Nice work.
I've done this with the hydro linkage on both my tractors. Got tired of chasing the creep. Some of the prices on the parts I needed was just insane/stupid. So I figured something else out in order to fix them.

Well yesterday was not to bad got a little cave time after doing work at my older neighbors for the morning
Went to TSC got a few cut off wheels and got the mounting bracket cut out off of my template. Need to bend it yet. May need to take to work and do on the press . To thick to do by hand this time.

Since I work this weekend had today off.
After a few chores it was time to finish up the air cleaner mounting. Had to cut out a half inch out of mounting bracket it stuck out way to far.
Here are the results , needs painting yet but it’s all together. Few minor details to do.
New hose clamps and find the unloader rubber for bottom of air cleaner
Should it be gloss or satin black?
