I picked this little guy up a few weeks ago because I thought it would be a fun project. Got it home and blew it apart to assess what was there and what I needed.
Here it is as of today. I picked up a donor newer JD for miscellaneous parts for $50 and fitted the rear wheels today using some galvanized gas pipe for spacers on the axle. I am doing this on the cheap so scrounging parts wherever I can.
You can see my spacers on the inside of the axle. Tomorrow I will pressure wash all of the gunk off of it and start prepping the bodywork. New starter should be here Thursday so I can start on the mechanical side.
Cleaned the carb and my starter showed up today. The little Kawasaki is alive again. Still have to clean out the fuel tank and start putting it back together
I cleaned out the fuel tank and replace the filter. The little Kawasaki fired right up and runs smooth as silk. All of the gears and the PTO engaged like new. This little guy was apparently abandoned because of a $40 starter.
