Well a few weeks ago went to the auction with pop. There sat
a Sears Suburban 12 complete and in decent shape.
Motor was turning over with my hand no battery so couldn’t try it
Won the bid at 100 bucks dollars.
Was very happy then started tinkering and researching any info I could about it and they are almost invisible it would seem.
Then this happened…..
Had a battery in it temporarily and repaired some minor issues and tried to clean the carb as best I could with no rebuild kit for a Tecumseh. Had it sputtering and continued trying when it started alright and just kept going and revving higher higher and before
I could yank the plug wire off without getting whacked
the damage was done . Now you cannot turn it over 360 degrees as something is hitting inside . Now it’s taking up a spot in the garage. Have the JYD’s old heartbeat but that’s only an 8hp and this is a 12 but I know it ran and ran well. So we will see what happens. That’s wha I get for venturing off the green path

Yup… haul it to the scrap yard and keep the 64!
That stinks Kyle, I hope it’s not too serious. I can see why you were attracted to it, it has the same seat and round fenders!

My Dad had Suburbans for years. First one was a gift from a neighbor. Pull start with a 3 point hitch and a toolbar cultivator.

Next one was a 70’s ST-16 that I bought from a relative. Plowed a lot of snow and mowed 100’s of acres of grass with that one. Dad really got the bug after that one. I think he ended up with up to 6 of them at one point with a full catalog of attachments. Ended up selling them all when they moved to Florida…

Granted this was 30 years ago, but that was one of the things we liked about them as you could get just about anything from Sears parts…

No engine is just sitting on floor and a K181 from The Dog sitting in tractor at the moment. Pondering ideas...........
Life is in the way. 318 is now sitting with it as I want to fix a few little drips from her and maybe spruce it up but not sure how soon that will happen.
Honey do list and all

Put the pieces back on and will attempt to find someone who wants another project
need it out of the way asap as there is another green member coming from Pop
that he found and does not want
If you know someone who like Sears it’s a 67 Sears Suburban 12 deck in very good shape
and yes it has the original coil set up and has spark make an offer it’s in good shape other than the engine but is surely rebuildable
