A friend called who is a red machine guy and said come get this thing outta my garage. He acquired it thru someone for something else. The price was right but it’ll take a few $$$ to bring her back after what I found.
She is another 1975 JD 200 so now I really need to sell the other. Pretty much all original.
And here is what I found when I opened her up. Notice anything?
Looks like it’ll need a head gasket and intake valve. Possibly a piston but not sure yet. May hold off on that until I can hear it run
After servicing the JD 165 for my older neighbor I got a little alone time in the cave with the 200. Removed the engine from the tractor, removed piston from block and honed it out. I only had bought the exhaust valve but after looking closer at the intake I think that one is gonna be replaced too.
