A little garage time today on the 314

Well what started as a simple carb rebuild (again)
turned into removal of engine tins , front air box and the head. I wanted to see what is going on in there. Took the time to reseat the valves and check clearances then did the head on a bench top with sandpaper. Think I am putting off the inevitable engine rebuild but I am hoping this helps with the struggles it’s having.
Glad I bought the service and parts manual what a help. A trip to my favorite man store for parts next week then I should have it running again.
A lot of build up on the intake valve and oil pushing out of one of the head bolts.
Sorry no pics didn’t take the camera out and was already greased up when I realized it.
Have to admit was great therapy being out in the cave today.

Yes great therapy! I too spent some time in the barn today cleaning some more parts for my 110. It won’t be to long and I will start putting some parts back on. Finally... 😉

Well the 314 is back together after a little issue that some advice from a good friend helped me straightened out.
(Thank you Don) She's back together and sounds much stronger now that she does not have a blown head gasket
may require a little carb fine tuning but hoping this gets her thru to next summer when maybe she gets some love and affection that I keep promising her.
