I started tearing down my 110 a few months ago, and am just now getting back to it. I have an item that I can't find in the jdparts schematics. I thought I took a photo of it before I removed it so I would know where it came from. However I can't find the photo. I think it was located near the solenoid. Any ideas?

Looks like a resistor for the coil. Not sure where it mounts on a 110 though.

not thinking that's an original part, maybe an added part by PO.
I am pretty sure my 66 does not have one and there was not one on the 65 that I sold nor my 64,67

i believe thats an external resistor. i would check your coil and make sure the coil that is on tractor has the internal resistor. a lot of the older farm tractors have these. honestly i think i would use a new coil with internal resistor if your coil markings are worn off.

I agree, this looks like an external resistor and highly likely is one if the outer casing that is a dull white color in your photos is a ceramic insulator. My '66 110 round fender did not have one of these and as best as I've been able to tell, my '66 110 is almost all original as far as major parts and electrical parts are concerned. The advice given by ckjakline to use a new coil with an internal resistor sounds like the best way to go.
