64's Bad Habit

Well since the 208's done thought I'd help my 1964 JD 110 with its bad habit. Yes she's a smoker , I know she's old enough but I thought a little intervention was in order. Tore it apart ordered new gasket set, piston w/rings,plug,points from my favorite man store.

Reseated the valves and I'm pretty sure the exhaust wasn't working so well do to build up of carbon and no marks on the seat surface area.

Gave her a good bath to make her feel better about herself.

I was a little concerned with seeing orange gasket glue smeared all over a corner of the oil pan thinking it had never been apart before. After scraping the gasket off my worries came to fruition and I found the corner was broken off so off to EBAY . I have an extra but the drain plugs are different and I want it to be correct because I know some people will look for that detail.

My question is where do you go to buy all of the spare time to be able to work on tractors so much. I'm jealous!

I don't do much side work any more and am lucky enough to have a job that affords me vacation time!!!! The time in the garage is my relaxation time as I have no children in the house my daughter lives on her own and to be honest it gets me out of my wife's way most of the time but I have spoiled her as she expects her car kept clean and washed very regularly!!!

A little more progress , would like to have it running again tomorrow as its time to hook up the trailer and bring the other children back home from winter hibernation.

Mission accomplished back together and running . Had to do a little extra carb work but we've broken her of her habitual smoking and she's now purring like a kitten.
