Something I'd like to add to this post, which is something that I have been asked numerous times. What was introduced first, the 1966 Model 112 Lawn and Garden tractor with the 10hp HH100 horizontal shaft Tecumseh engine, or the 1966 Model 60 Lawn tractor with the 6hp VH60 vertical shaft Tecumseh engine?

The answer is the 1966 Model 60 Lawn tractor. The first time that John Deere had ever worked with Tecumseh was in testing out the 6hp vertical shaft engine.

John Deere introduced the Model 60 lawn Tractor February 2, 1966. The Model 112 Lawn and Garden Tractor wasn't introduced until April 26, 1966.
