I have a John Deere B that was bought new by my great grandfather in 1948. My grandfather had it restored in 1992 and we just ran it every once and awhile for nostalgia to take hay or whatever. Never had any issues. A couple years ago it started to act like it was starving for fuel so I took the carb off and rebuilt it. Life got busy and I just got around to putting it back on and when I went to fire it up realized the motor was stuck specifically the #1 cylinder. Couldn’t get it broke free so I pulled the cylinder head and got it free. New gaskets, cleaned all the injectors etc and now no compression in the #1 cylinder. I checked the silly things like the petcock etc still no compression. Other than a total overhaul and new sleeves, pistons, rings etc is there anything else you recommend I try in the meantime?

Respectfully,

Jason
